Professions is how he divides labor in his fortress, my one note is that every dwarf should have some kind of craft task as it generates happy thoughts (being creative/practice skill) You can equip your archers much lighter than this, they should be behind fortifications and arrows kill by bleeding an enemy (random headshot aside) so even if they get hit a couple of time a doctor should fix them up. He is missing a weapon from this list, but (metal) indivdual choice (melee) is generally good enough. Shield material does not matter, they all block perfectly well and do not take damage. Uniform is what his military wears, they are set to grab 1 of each item on this list and wear it instead of clothes (they can wear more but the clothing bulk limit is finicky and there is always that chance a golin whip will brain the dwarf anyway). Room quality counts the value of everything in the room including the walls and floor (masterwork engravings are decently valuable), side note if 2 rooms overlap then room value is reduced (50% I think, rooms can share walls and doors) Room quality determines sleep and happiness for nobles. Gem value is useful for trade and room value. Log weight generally doesn't matter, most dwarves are strong enough to not get slowed by carrying Item quality affects the value, sharpness (effectively damage for slashing and piercing weapons), and deflection value (for armor) Moods: these last 1.5 months and can only happen 1 at a time and when you have >20 people, if supplied with the materials they require then a legendary item will be made Lastly is how to make soap, you need Lye (need a bucket and ash at an ashery) and either oil (from seeds at a press) or Tallow (from a butcher) Lastly on the top row is the age of maturity, and consumption rate for dwarfs. He also lists out crops which can be used for industry. Next is His crop rotation for farms, he does rows either 3 or 7 long (for fertilizer efficiency you want tiles%4=3). it's just too good!! hahaįrom the top: calendar with dates of full moons (possible were beasts) just thought i would share, maybe someone will find it handy!btw shout out to the df wiki contributers. notes are from pre-steam version, so i'm not entirely sure how accurate it is for steam release. also included my custom professions and embark settings if anyone needs some inspo for their own.
